肖培根，1932年生，籍贯上海市，药用植物学家，药用植物研究所研究员，博士生导师。1949年考入厦门大学生物系，1953年获得学士学位。2002年获香港浸会大学名誉博士。1953-1983年工作于中国医学科学院药物研究所。1983年10月被任命为中国医学科学院药用植物研究所首任所长。1986年晋升研究员。1994年12月当选为中国工程院医药卫生工程学部首批院士。现为中国医学科学院药用植物研究所名誉所长。

长期致力于中药资源的调查和整理、中药资源的开发和利用、中药的国际化与现代化研究。主要研究方向包括药用植物亲缘学、中药资源学和药食两用物品研究与开发。
